Hello -

I'm new here, so be gentle. :)

I recently purchased a Sony RM-AV3000 universal remote to replace my aging Kenwood RC-9010 that came with my still adequate Kenwood KRV9010 receiver. In the process of teaching the full command set into the Sony, the Kenwood suddenly gave up the ghost, and I now cannot turn the volume up - apparently the only command I *hadn't* set when the Kenwood went south.

Needless to say, this has become a major inconvenience. I was able to track down the codes for all the Kenwood functions on Motorola's site for Premise Systems
[Link: ir.premisesystems.com]
but I need a way to get those code into my Sony.

Does anyone know how I can do this? I also have a Sony Clie PEG-SJ30 Palm OS unit, so if there's software with the correct data set out there, I'd love to know about it. All I'd need to do is load that into the Clie and then learn it into the Sony remote.

OR - is there a way I can punch the codes straight into the Sony remote?

Thanks!

Have you tried any of the 6 preset codes for Kenwood in the av3000? The av3000 has 18 devices, the first digit of the code determines what the device will be. If you find one that works, then you can teach the down vol to another remote, then send it back to primary AMP device on the av3000.

I have tried the presets, but none of them worked. That's why I had to resort to learning them into the Sony.
