I'm new to these boards and to Remotes in general (I have used them before, but not on an enthusiast basis).

I need a remote for the grandparents - they have an old citek remote that stopped working (power button jammed) and the part info on the back is all rubbed out.

Radio Shack told them they have nothing that would replace it.

I am assuming it is an RF remote b/c it has a big black box as the transmitter, and not a little IR eye, asI have seen on other devices.

Is there any remote that can replace this, and I'd obviously prefer inexpensive - just a TV remote, maybe a VCR too - but TV is the most important.

Can anybody help me out here? Thanks in advance.
