I recently bought the Sanyo HT30744 HDTV.

I really like the remote control for this TV. Nice and big, with ample clearly-labeled buttons. It works great to control my DVD player, and it has 6-device "universal" remote capability. But does anyone know how I might use it to control my Yamaha HTR-5240 (fairly new) audio receiver? I really dislike the Yamaha remote and I'd really like getting down to one remote! Volume up/down, mute, and input select are really the only buttons I'd really need, though I'd settle for just volume control.

Of course, no codes for receivers are listed in the Sanyo manual. Any ideas?

Without a code, which isn't given, or learning, which is also not available, there is no way to control your Yamaha receiver with this remote.

Thanks for your reply, Ron. I was fearing that was the case. Is there any chance of some undocumented code somewhere?

Not likely. You would have to have a key dedicated to the receiver, because with only DVD, VRC, and cable/sat keys, none of which have anything to do with a receiver, you can't even try punching in all codes from 000-999 because you don't have the proper key to try it on, and no code search feature either.
