Hello,
I just bought a Philips RU760 universal remote, and have programmed it with my TV and DVD (also learnt a few buttons without problems).
However, trying to get it to work with my Rotel stuff seems impossible.
I have a Rotel RCD-971 CD and a Rotel RC-995 pre-amplifier. I have tried the two "Rotel CD" codes listed in the manual without success. I also tried the automatic search, for both CD and Amp. No success.

When I try to learn, it seems that it won't even sense the IR signal - at normal distance and dimmed light, nothing happens. Fiddling with distance in a dark room makes it react, by blinking once - ie fail. Once I succeeded to learn CD Play somehow, so that one works perfectly now, but I can't repeat what I did. My Rotel remotes works perfectly, batteries should be OK (they work even if I point the remote away from the equipment).

Any suggestions??? I'll call Philips support tomorrow, just thought I'd check here too. :)

Rgds,
Calle

Well I solved my problem myself. :)
You simply have to press the button on the original remote for a _long_ time (several seconds). Strange, no other equipment has that behaviour.. but now it works.

Hi there,

I have the same problem with a NAD T163 preamp. Pushing the buttons in learning mode for a few seconds make them be recognised by the RU760, but the problem now is: turning up or down the volume only works by repeatingly pushing the vol up or vol down button. Holding either button makes the volume only go up/down one dB.

Don't you experience the same problem with your Rotel?

If so, any ideas to solve it?

Regards,

Exirion

I have the volume problem with my equipment aswell, was thinking of making a macro to put it up and down a couple of dB on every click, not a perfect solution but it might work better, havent tested yet though. If anyone comes up with a better solution I would like that.

Regards
Markus
