I was reading the review on the new sunwave remote..currently have the one for all urc-9960 but havent been happy with it..soft touch buttons have started to indent ,not nearly enough learning memory and to top it off no toll free number for upgrades..i am looking for something in the $150 dollar range..must have good learning capacity and combination of touch screen and hard buttons..my system consists of Panasonic th-42wd6 plasma ,Sony RDR -GX7 dvd,,JVC HM-DH40000U VCR, Motorola DCT6200 hd cable box,JVC XV-NP10S dvd player,JVC HR-S2901 s-vhs,,,Yamaha HTR-5640 A/V reciver ...im considering the sunwave or a harmony unit..ease of use is needed as my wife, even after 6 months still cant turn on the system..any thoughts or opinions would be nice!...thanks

the Harmony remotes are easy to set-up
Harmony support is unparalleled
when it comes to use
A) built for easy activity based operation (sit down and press the watch TV button)
B) if something does go wrong there is the HELP button that guides you into getting things back on track
c) the LCD lets you add more functions (and you can call them what you want)
d) a program guide on the remote so users can pick to watch press the name of the show and it will change to that channel(on some models it comes with it and on others it is optional )

Also (Take it this way) the more a remote is good the more traffic it gets and eventually it gets its own forum (either a remote or a line of remotes). Harmony has a very popular forum, the Sunwave maybe a couple of threads in the general forum.

I have noticed that the Harmony 680 is mentioned but not the 688. What is the difference? I am looking to get a remote for a small home theater setup my son has put together, including a Samsun projection Tv. Thanks
One additional question. It looks like discreet control looks like an important feature. Is the MX700 capable either directly or with some maro progamming, of having discreet control? thx-bobbabe

I have not used or seen either in person, but like I said above the difference in all the 6xx line is what the buttons are made of and where they are placed. I think many people are not too fond of the 688 because the buttons are too close together and almost indistinguishable, so it is hard to use by feal
