I know that the tivo remotes use discreet remote codes, so that they BOTH could be used in the same room.

What I am hoping to do is use ONE MX-500 to controll BOTH tivos, independantly.

Has anyone done this, how does one set the unique remote codes for differant TIVOS?

thanks
tb

You take those tivo remotes and teach each and every command from both tivo remotes. The only preset tivo code is for address "0", meaning it will control all tivos no matter what address its set to. I have my mx-500 controlling 5 tivos.

cool, thanks for the response.

How do you like using the MX-500 for TIVOs, do you use the dial pad, or the FF RW for tivo functions?

I use the transport keys for FF, PLAY, and such. And use cursor keys for directional controls to get around the menu. I don't use the replay or skip commands at all, I prefer rewarding and fastforwarding instead. So the GUIDE & MENU keys have guide & menu commands, instead of REPLAY & SKIP commands.

If you look in the marketplace forum you'll see I'm selling two mx-500's for the price of one. One already has 4 Dtivo's programmed, the other 3.
