I recently purchased a Toshiba 20" - MD20FP3 TV/DVD and I have Hughes Direct TV Receiver I need a remote that can operate both. It doesn't have to operate the DVD, but at least the on/off and volume control. I called Toshibia and they said there were were very few universal remotes that were compatible.
Does anyone know of one that would work? I don't need a lot bells and whistles.

The radio shack 15-2142, $13, lists a code for a toshiba Tv/DVD combo, the code is TV1935. If your Hughes is standard SAT, then the code is SAT0749. If its a DVR, then code would be VCR0618. In either case the 15-2142 has both codes.
