The codes that in the comcast remote, what are they, and did you try all keys on the comcast remote with the yamaha on, not just the power key?

The Comcast DVR remote came with 2 Yamaha receiver codes...0176 and 1176. I could not get them to work the 750 but they will work other Yamaha models. I actually went to the store where I got the receiver to see if I was doing something wrong. I got the Comcast remote to work just about every other Yamaha and other brand receiver in the place except the 750.

Those codes tell me its a UEI made remote, and those are the only codes in all other UEI remotes under the brands of OFA & radio shack for Yamaha. Except for the newest UEI remote, which was made for Directv, it lists 30176, 30186, 31375, 31331, and 31176 for yamaha. It now accept 5 digit setup codes instead of 4. You might drop the first "3", from the those codes and try them in your Comcast remote.

Thanks so much for replying. I tried all those codes and every Yamaha code I could get my hands on. Nothing works. Some of the codes makes the aux. button light bliink the way it is supposed to when programmed correctly but the remote will not operate the receiver. I guess it's time to buy a new universal remote that will work everything. Any suggestions as to what to buy under $200?

I prefer the mx-600 myself. No need for codes, it has enough memory for a lifetime. The mx-500 is going for under $100, about $72, difference between the two is mx-600 is Rf. If you want PC programming, you can pickup an open box mx-700 from Surfremotes for under $200. I like the layout of the mx-500/600 over the mx-700 for pvr use.
