I need a SINGLE remote that will control the following:

2 Direct TV recievers (Hughes GAEBO and RCA DRD430RGA). The remote needs to be able to program all Direct TV features and access GUIDE ect.

Toshiba Large Screen TV - I use it for split TV. Each 1/2 has it's own Direct TV reciever.

Sony AV AMP/Reciever Surround sound STR DE695

Sony DVD player DVP-NS325

SONY CDP-CX355 CD player

Symphonic VHS VCR.

Issues: The remote must be able to default the VOL up/DOWN to the Sony AMP. The Direct TV Blue remote can NOT do this. So when I'm controlling the DVD player or a Direct TV reciever the vol buttons control the Sony AV amp vol without having to switch the remote to the Sony AV amp.

When using the second Direct TV reciever, the vol up/down should control the Vol on the TOSHIBA TV.

The audio is normally controlled by the Sony AV AMP.

The Symphonic VHS VCR also has the cable TV feed coming through it (I have both Comcast cable & Direct TV - Comcast cable is free with internet access).

The touch screen remotes are too hard for my wife and I to see. We prefer buttons.

What is the best choice for this set up?

Thanks!

Tony

You can lock the Blue directv remote to your AUD receiver's vol.

1. press AUD
2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks
3. enter 9-9-3
4. press AUD

If the Blue remote doesn't control your Sony with the built-in codes, you need to switch your sony remote codeset from AV2 to AV1, see this thread.

If you decide not to stick with the Blue remote, I would recommend either a "One For All" or "Radio Shack" universal.
