I need help, please!

I have a unique setup at home, with 3 rooms of a 4 room DISH Network setup in 1 place, my TV watching room. I have 1 satellite receiver attached directly to 1 TVCR, and 2 more satellite receivers attached to auxiliary VCR's, which are in turn attached with an A/B switch to an extra TV I use just to set up the programming on the 2 auxiliary VCR's.

My issue is that the remote for the main unit, a Toshiba 13" TVCR, quit on me after I dropped it, so I need to replace it. It would probably be best to get a universal remote that would handle the TVCR, the auxiliary TV, all 3 satellite receivers, and both auxiliary VCR's. I use the auxiliary TV, the auxiliary VCR's, and 2 satellite receivers for recording only, so replacing the remotes for them is optional. However, I really need to get a remote that wil control both the TVCR and the primary satellite receiver, as I watch some live TV, and all of my taped shows, on the TVCR unit. The satellite remote purports to be a universal remote, and it will turn the TVCR unit on/off, and play tapes, but it lacks several functions that are important to me. It will not allow me to program the TVCR to timer-record programs when I'm not there, and it won't give me any on-screen displays. I need both of those functions.

So, can anyone recommend what my best choices for universal remotes would be, given my requirements? Thank you!!

Sounds like you need either A) a remote with an excellent built-in database, like a One For All, or B) a remote where you can download configurations from a PC, like a Pronto or a Home Theater Master. And if you want to control every device you'll need a fairly capable remote.

How much do you want to spend?

I'm good with anything up to $100
