I posted this on the intermission forum then realized I probably choice the wrong one. Sorry.

This is what I want to do: have one button on the remote control used as a toggle to switch between Stereo and SAP ( or if necessary Stereo Mono SAP)

On my JVC tv this is normally done by depressing the menu button then the down arrow until the AUDIO line is found. The right arrow button is then pushed to higlight one of Stereo Mono or SAP. Then exit.

When I hit the menu button that activated function is highlighted since I don't know what that was I can't simply depress down arrow x number of times.

I hope I have explained this well enought to be understood.

Can you recommend a remote that will do this - the cheaper the better.

I want to provide this for a friend who is visually impaired and can't make out this menu. If you haven't heard SAP sometimes carries 'described video' for movies, that is, a subtle voice in the background explaining the action.

Probably the only remotes with chance of having such command available, are the one-for-all and certain radio shack remotes. What sets them apart from other universal remotes, advanced codes. These are 3-digit codes for individual functions(098-PLAY, 123-PIP), that are preprogrammed into them. The advanced codes for a JVC TV using setup code 0053 can be find here.
