I recently purchased a Philips Universal remote model number SBC RU520/00 and I can't get it to work with my Thomson TV. It works fine with my Black Diamond VCR and obviously the Philips portable we have.
Is this a known problem?
I'm not sure what model the TV is but the Thomson DVD remote we have ( RTC842MN ) works fine with it. It's a 28" widescreen about 2/3 years old. IT's a step down from the first DVD integrated Thomson TV's.
I'd really appreciate any help.

Could anybody recommend a universal remote the ^definitely^ works with thompson tv's please!
I rang the philips helpline and was just told that my remote was simply not compatible. Would this be true?
