Hi,

I am looking for a remote that is mostly touchscreen therefore it is mostly lcd, it should have some hard buttons though and it must be able to learn. It cannot be too expensive though!!

I have read through reviews and threads on this site and i think one of the Crisp Solutions UC-525 or Proton iR800 may be the best for the job.
I was wondering if anyone could confirm this or suggest a 'better' remote?
Also is it a big problem for usability on the 525 that all the graphics are not available for every button?
Can any button be set to a blank on the 525? (Not invisible, is still used as a button)

Thankyou,
Neil

Don't know how much is cannot be too expensive. But the Pronto TSU-3000 new goes for a bit under 250$ and a refurbished TS-1000 and TSU-2000 can sometimes be had for around 100$. They are much better remotes

By not too expensive i was thinking around $100 to 150.
I don't know about buying refurbished, is an idea.
The only problem i have is that i live in uk, so i will order the remote online and get it delivered to someone i know in the us, then she will ship it on to me, so i don't know whether i will be able to find a refurbished one for this.

The remotes are actually from Philips, their policy was(is) that if you have a problem with your remote, you send it in and they send out immediately a previously refurbished remote. So when they moved to the new model they had refurbished remotes left over, so they also come with a warranty. Do a search in the Pronto forum and it will come up with a few places.

I am selling a Harman Kardon "Take Control" TC 1000
co developed with harman and microsoft. This unit can be programed to suit all your needs on your home pc and then downloaded into the remote. Remote can also be programed without a computer. Price $85 plus ship.
See my ad on the Audiogon.com website under accessories/auctions and look for the Harman Kardon ad.There are pictures and links.
Let me know if interested. This is a good deal. Selling only because I don't use it.
thanks
