I was able to preprogram the MX-500 remote for the JVC using code #048 for VCR1, but the remote can't seem to remember or properly handle- Recording Program protocol- Push program and the JVC's VCR plus screen comes up OK, but then I can't seem to figure a good way to handle START + _, STOP + -, DATE + -, with only CHANNEL + - working ok.
I tried editing the VCR1 page 2 menus for START, STOP, DATE but they don't work.
Any advise about using the MX-500 with JVC's programming protocol is appreciated, even if you don't have this specific VCR.
Thanks!

I have the MX-500,and us it with two JVC S-VHS vcrs. I taught all commands using the oem remotes. The second page of each device looks like this;
PROG---CHECK START--DATE blank---blank STOP---CHAN blank---blank
The START key and the blank below make-up the rocker from the original remote. Same goes for DATE, STOP,and CHAN. But I never use it, because of the four PVRs I own.
