I just switched from a Time-Warner cable service with a Atlanta Scientific 8000 PVR to a competitor's cable service. The new guy uses the same PVR as TW but provided a different remote, an at8400 Alltouch. The TW remote was an Universal Electronics 'Atlas' DVR/PVR 5 device I prefer the TW 'Atlas' remote as it seems to have some more capabilities. Is this remote available anywhere to the consumer? Where can I buy one?

I believe you can get the atlas "surplus" from someone on ebay. Seems to me I ran across that one when I was searching for a different model. How long and how often it will pop up I wouldn't know. There's some 36 pages of remotes listed on ebay on a typical day. You mite refine your search to narrow it down to "atlas"

I found a guy selling 2 of these currently, 7.99 start. However, it's listed as a 4 device remote, not 5. See if this one (has a pix) is what you want: [Link: cgi.ebay.com]Jim
