Hi, im very new to the remote world!!! i have a couple of questions if i may..
firstly, i have bought a dimmer light switch that has an infared remote control operation (made by varilight) by putting the dimmer in learn mode, i can get it to learn the codes of another remote control (i.e. any remote can be used the system will learn the code when the button is pressed in learn mode) How can i find out the discrete codes of the standard remote control that came with the light? i want to emulate the remote control for the varilight using Total Remote for the Nokia 7650. The program allows me to enter discrete codes to custom buttons. the reason behind this, is that the light can only remember one set of IR codes, so by learning a different button, i would loose the first. idealy i want to create an exact copy of the varilight remote control signal on to my mobile phone so i can use both at once. i hope that i havent totally got the wrong end of the stick!! and it makes sence. i have a laptop with an infared port if this would help me at all.
