Hoping someone can suggest the right remote. I want to do the following:
Control 2 separate TVs (Sony, off brand) Control 2 separate VCRs (Panasonic, Panasonic) Control 1 DVD Player (Pioneer) Control 1 Digital Cable (Motorola)
If possible control my X10 components If possible contolr my Bose Lifetstyle system
Thanks, any response is appreciated. Looking to spend under $400 bucks.

Control 2 separate TVs (Sony, off brand) no problem for any learning remote Control 2 separate VCRs (Panasonic, Panasonic) If you can control both without problems now (i.e. they use different codes) then any remote will do. If not, then you can get a remote with an RF base (Pronto or HTM MX-800 are good examples)or get a separate IR router Control 1 DVD Player (Pioneer) no problem for any learning remote Control 1 Digital Cable (Motorola) no problem for any learning remote
If possible control my X10 components Not a problem, a lot of good remotes, but you will need an IR543 or IR543AH they are IR to X10 gateways If possible contolr my Bose Lifetstyle system depends on the equipment, some newer models can accept IR, some other ones can work with an IR->bose device, others out of luck. If it is a model that falls in the first two categories a remote that is PC programmable will be helpful (like a Pronto, HTM MX700/800 or 500 and IR clone or Harmony

Thanks for response Anthony! I like the MX series. Thinking of the 500 or above. The IR543AH looks like a winner also. I'll check into the Bose. I have a LifeStyle 12 system so I'll look into.
Thanks again!!!

What other kinds of things are you looking for in a remote? Like do you want PC programmability?, or touchscreen or hard buttons?, etc. These are all pretty important in choosing your remote.

you might be out of luck with Bose. I don't think it is one that accepts both IR and RF, and it is not in the list of Bose equipment that works with [Link: bluedo.com]you could try contacting them and asking, don't know

Yeah I just sent their support an email to see if it would also work with the 12 system. As far as other options I have always leaned toward the hard button fashion. Think I'm sold on the Home Theater Masters MX500 controller. Should be more than adequate for what I have and I like the fact it has the codes for X10 already.
Thanks for everyone's input!!!
