Ok my 1 yr old today decided to play with the remote today..Well I programmed it back to normal for my TV,Cable Box,and DVD..I have one last programming to do and no matter where I look I cant find the answer,so I hope some one can help me out here...Ok I need the instruction manual for my cable remote..I am pretty sure its made by Contec and the model number is RT-U49E-4..I would greatly appreciate the manual..If not then can someone tell me how to program the remote so when I hit volume it does the volume on the TV and not the cable...Thanks..

Many cable remotes are actually re-packaged versions of normal remotes, so if you describe the instructions you used for fixing the TV, CBL and DVD devices, maybe one of us will recognize them and be able to help you.

What's the name of your cable company, and what is your location.

Cox cable is my cable supplier..Well to do a code search you hold down Device and mute at the same time then all the device lights light up(scrools threw them)..Then you hold ch up or dwn to search for the code...I hope this is what you asked for..

Try holding the Cable device and mute buttons, then pressing Vol up, then pressing TV.

Hey Dan,
How did you know what to suggest? Is his remote modelled after a regular universal?

Actually, pressing the device and then mute is the way you program the SL-9000. So I gave him the instructions for that remote. I guess if thats the case, it would follow that URC would also manufacture that remote. What do you think?

Well I just checked and URC does make the remote. However, I still think your cable company has to provide the manual.

Yeah, but assuming he can't get one that route, he can probably use the URC manual. Kinda like if you discover your remote is a UEI remote, you can just pick a One For All or Radio Shack manual and most of it will apply.

Basically the remote is from Cox Cable in cleveland and I have since moved so therefor I can not get the manual from the cable supplier....The box is a Pioneer for the cable company in Cleveland..Anyways I will take a look and see if any of those remotes look like mine, but I am positive Contec makes my remote..
