It seems time that I purchase a second Home Theater Remote, retiring my Radio Shack 1994 to the bedroom. I love lots of buttons and an LCD screen as well. Is the MX series the best out there? What would you recommend? Macros are a must as well. Opinions.......

It all depends. Why are you retiring the 15-1994? I still use mine to control my entire system, which is over 13 devices. Rob http://www.hifi-remote.com

That's easy to figure out. The 1994 was HIS remote, she got the crappy rca. He probably yelled at her so often and/or smacked her fingers for using it, she is already conditioned to not touch it which makes him the "remote master" in the bedroom. Just kidding, but I have seen this happen on several occassions.
Not retiring it permanantly, just using it in the bedroom where there's probably not that much to control. MX-500 still makes him king of the roost in the main room, and certainly classier lookin if he's got a good chunk invested there.

Jim, I think you have been stalking me or something. You have been correct in every assumption so far. While I love the 1994 still, I need another all in one remote to replace the crappy Hughes DirecTivo remote it came with. The Sony Tivo remote is a thousand times better but that is in my Home Theater room and no help in the bedroom. My Bedroom does have a lot of compontes as well so it needs a good remote to run: DVD player, TV, VCR, and DirecTivo. All diferent brands except the vcr and tv. The 1994 will hold down the fort pretty well there, leaving the Toshiba univeral remote for my wife.
My HT is actually very nice set up: Toshiba 57XHD TV, Panosonic RP-91 DVD, Sony DirecTivo, Toshiba VCR, and then Dennon 3802 powering all definitves. I need a quality remote to run the system with ease. Macros to dive directly into movie mode, as well as other configs.
Is the MX-500 as good as the MX 800? Is the 800 worth the price dif?

The mx-800 is RF, computer prog.and will control Twenty components. Where the mx-500 isn't RF, not computer prog. and only controls ten. And the MX-700 is tha same as the mx-800 without RF.
