I have a new JVC TV with 3 inputs, an RCA satellite receiver, and several other components. The original RCA remote has died, and I'd like to replace with a similar layout universal remote that will also work the JVC TV, including the input selection. Having convenient access to the satellite functions (e.g. guide, page-by-page scrolling, etc.) is important.

I bought a RCA RCU800 which works the basic JVC TV functions, but not input. I then bought a GE branded (Thompson) univ remote which works the JVC TV input, but the button layout is completed scrambled compared to our other RCA satellite remotes, so it is not very convenient.

Is there:
(a) An RCA layout remote which can change the input on a JV TV?

(b) A special way to program the RCU800 to do this?

If the RCA is a RCU800MSL [Link: remotecentral.com] you can teach it the jvc input, if it's just a rcu800, you probably need a different remote.
