Hi, I purchased a philips DVDR985 without remote. The remote that comes with it is an RC2056 Philips. I am wondering if I can use a universal one for basic functionality (accessing the menus mainly). Not looking for any tricky discrete codes, etc. I have looked up the DVD codes for Philips and they are 0539 and 0503, but these are for the DVD Players, and I'm not sure if this will give me enough functionality for the DVDR menu functions. Any thoughts, or recommendations on where to purchase an RC2056 fast? Thanks!
