Hello there,

I am looking now for several months a remote control which fits most of my needs.
- Communication should be based on radio frequency, that no line of sight pointing is needed, range should be around 30meters.
- I do not want to have dozens of available buttons.
kinda joystick, lmb, rmb, and numbered buttons from e.g. 0-9 are enough.
- It should be possible to program indivial keystroke sequences onto these buttons.
-It should be designed, that the remote can be used in industrial environment.

I hope anybody wihin this forum could give me some hindts or tips where to find such a remote control.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

regards,
stonee

should be used within machine indusrty, where the operators do have e.g. dirty fingers.
I guess thies MX-800 is too much functionality.. any other suggestions are very much appreciated.

Generally speaking, you will only get the RF extender feature on the higher end remotes, such as the $50 15-2117 from Radio Shack and the URC-9910 from One For All, so these remotes will have more buttons than you desire.

Also, if the setting is "industrial", I'm guessing that there's alot of metal machinery in the way, which could well reduce the range of the RF signal.

genreally speaking, I am looking for a Remote, similar to the Remote RF one from Interlink. But it should have the possibility to program keystroke sequences and not only single keystrokes (e.g. ctrl e and then alt f4...). A lil more than just 4 programmable buttons would be also great, but not a must. If you could chosse in between infrared or rf would be another wish.
Maybe anybody has a good recommendation.
thanks again!

They probably costs more than you are willing to spend, and I don't think they have an RF option, but maybe you should check out the Harmony line of remotes.

BlueDo has the SST-745 (pictured) on sale for $70

Harmony remotes are just IR.

As far as I know there are no IR/RF or RF universal remotes with just a few buttons. The only other idea I have, (if you need a few of them) is to try contacting HTM and asking them if they could build some RF MX-200. Since HTM build the 200 and since they have RF remotes, I would guess they might be able and willing to do it.

You could always try that new RF Extender that works with the batteries. I don't really know ow well it works though.

hmm, thanks for these suggestions.
But still not sure which one to choose.
Is there really no Remote available on the market which fits to my needs?(keystroke sequence programming, RF, not too much buttons, no LCD Display stuff, easy to install...)

thanks again,
stonee
