I just got MX 700 Home Theater Master remote control. I have never programmed any remote before, was able to use software and select my harmon kardon avr 65 and it works fine. I will appreciate if some one can tell me about IR learning? Do I need to keep MX 700 in vicinity of original remote to have it learn the IR codes? I need very basic information.

Just line the two remotes up head to head a few inches apart and follow the directions in the programming manual (if you don't have it, download it from hometheatermaster.com). With the exception of Volume and Channel Up/Down commands, a single push of the button on the remote you're learning from is all you need.

If you have any other questions, you'd be better off to post them in the "Home Theater Master" forum.
