I am shopping for my first universal remote for my HT. I really don't know where to start. I would appreciate any advice on which brand to focus on. Seems Pronto is most popular but want to make sure with you guys(als) before I purchase. Your advice and guidance would be truly appreciatted.

It depends on whether you prefer a touchscreen or button remote, as well as how much you want to spend. If you prefer a touchscreen remote, the Pronto TSU3000 would be the best choice of the three you mentioned. The Sony has some button labeling limitations and is quite large. The Marantz remotes are essentially the same as the Prontos, but they cost more due to Marantz' price restrictions.

In the button remote category, it's hard to beat the Home Theater Master MX-500 or it's big brother, the MX-700. If you want to stay under $100, the One for All or Radio Shack remotes are your best bet in button remotes.

I agree with Mike, but wanted to add that you should read the reviews in the review section (the button to it is at the top of your screen)
