I'm looking for a touch screen remote that can be programmed as well as learn IR and RF signals? Any help will be appreciated. If you have some advice please let me know how difficult it is to program.

IF you are looking for a universal remote that will control an RF-controlled device, stop looking, there's no such beast.

no, learning is for IR. But if you tell us what RF device there might be something that can be done for instance

some Sats do both IR and RF some only RF, but with a
slight mod can do IR

some Bose accept RF and IR some only RF but for some other that are only RF there is a device that does IR to Bose RF with others you are SOL

European X10 uses the same frequency and code structure as Prontos so a Pronto with RF can talk to them directly (will not work in US

Thanks for your message. I had installed a lutron spacer for recessed lighting, but I also have a ceiling fan on a remote that works on rf. It controls the light and fan speed. I was trying to find a remote that could send rf and ir to get rid of all my remotes except one. Again thanks for your help.

JP-1 group has files for the lutron spacer. If the fan/light is a X-10 type device, a ueic remote might be able to work it too, although you may need a 20.00 part.

Let me clarify my problem. My ceiling fan has an after market remote that working by radio freq.(It has its own remote) I'm looking for an all in one remote that will send IR or RF signals. I have seen some advertisements about this philips, marantz, etc., but I wanted to find out if anyone has any first hand knowledge about remote like this. Thanks for any help.

the learning remotes that do RF are built to send RF to a base station that then retransmits the code as IR and are not built to learn or transmit directly to an RF device.

you might be able to build this device [Link: laser.com]

and it might work (never tried.)

Like James said, the Lutron should not be a problem [Link: remotecentral.com]

but the fan might (what brand is it)

What sort of "after market" remote did you get for the ceiling fan? How did you know that that remote would work your brand of ceiling fan?

The device I am using simply connects inside the housing of the fan and the remote comes with the device. Anyone know of an IR device that can be used to operate a ceiling fan.

X10 can be controlled by IR when you use an IR543 box.
