Does anyone have any information regarding this
remote extender:
[Link: homeautomationnet.com]
(the first item on the page; "Remote Range Xtender")

I would like to now things like this:
1 does it turn of the ir of the remote or
will the remote send both ir and rf and if so is that
a problem?
2 Does it take standard emitters and if so how many
jacks has it?
3 Does it work well or is it "dead spots" that
many other rf systems suffer from?
4. Any oter information worth nowing?

I've never seen this device before, and it looks interesting, but I can tell you just from the description that is does NOT turn off the IR from the remote. What it does is cause the remote to also send an RF signal, which will be picked up by the receiver unit that comes with it. This unit will convert the RF signal back into IR to control your devices.

I don't know about it's jacks, but I guess that if you have found that other RF devices have dead spots in your house, this one will probably also have the same dead spots.

Hope that helps,
Rob

1) both, it just replaces one of the batteries with a smaller battery and RF emitter
2)don't know, but I would guess no
3)all RF systems can have dead spots
4) kind of looks like a device announced several years ago. It does not work with all remotes, and if I am not mistaken it does not work with LCD remotes. LCDs make too much "noise", and so it cannot tell if the IR is transmitting.

Well, my thought was to use it with a Marantz RC-2000
and that has a LCD window (similar to the MX500 and mx700) so perhaps it wont work then?
Anyone that has tested this item?
