I have a 15-1994 that I love. I recently bought a new Sony receiver (STR-DE895) and a Tivo Series 2. None of the Sony codes I have found work. I seem to recall someone saying that new Sonys use a different kind of code or something. Does anyone know if I can get this to work? If not, does anyone know what to look for when buying a new universal remote that would tell me whether it will work with the new Sony receivers (and whether there is anything out there as good as the 15-1994)?

Also, does anyone know if there is a code to get a Tivo series 2 to work on the 15-1994?

Thanks for your help,
Walter

Sorry, no code for tivo in the 1994, and to change your receiver to the old code set, check here;

If you want to stick with the 15-1994 (which is a great remote and there are many of us here who love it and still use it) you can add codes for the Tivo and anything else using JP1.

Edmund,

Even though my manual for the STR-DE895 lists instructions for changing the command mode, I can't get it to work. And there are no options on changing the command when I use the menu button and jog dial on the unit. I posted a reply in that thread:

Please see Ron's reply within the above thread for an answer to the Sony receiver problem.
