I have an RCA remote that came with a RCA RT2500 Home Theatre Sys and need the codes to program for a Motorola digital cable box. Don't know the model # of the box but it reads Interactive Digital Communications and is Dolby Digital.

If there is a code listed for "General Instrument" boxes, use that code.

dbyrd,

I don't have the code, but for future reference the cable box model is probably DCT-2000. I learned the Motorola to my Yamaha remote :( wish I would have checked here first.

Rob thanks for your reply but the GI code doesn't work either. Thanks again though.

If you decide to get a new remote, you should be able to use pretty much any Radio Shack or One For All remote with the CBL/0476 code.

Rob, Hate the Macro switch (thumb nail) on my Yamaha rxv2200 remote. Are there Uni-remotes out there that allow you to run Macros (switch TV inputs) directly from the device mode ? WAF is low on this Yamie remote.
Any suggestions on a good hard button remote with the the ability to 'one-touch' switch TV inputs/ right into device mode ?

All my equipment works except my Motorola cable box.
Have a Sony rm-av2100 and have not been able to do anything but turn my Motorola cable box thru Charter Cable off and on and change channels. I can not use any of the other fuctions as there are no other buttons.

Dennis:
The remotes that I'm an expert in are all UEIC remotes (ie, Radio Shack, One For All, etc) and these remotes do not let you program macros to the device buttons, but if you re-program them using JP1, there are methods to do this. I think the Sony VL900 lets you do this though, but I'm not certain.

Czarman:
Did you get a remote with your cable box? If so, have you tried simply learning the commands into the AV2100? The built in setup codes in the AV2100 are not that great, most people simply learn everything.
