We have a Philips TV and RCA VCR. Anytime we use a philips or magnavox universal remote it works great for the TV but when used with the VCR the VCR will respond as if we pressed the button twice. If we try and program an RCA universal remote to work with the TV then the TV responds as if we pressed the button on the RCA remote twice. Any suggestions or solution so we can get one remote working would be great.

If you still have the original remotes, try getting a learning remote.
Have you tried any One For All or Radio Shack remotes?
