I'm looking to get new universal remote and the 2103 and 2104 are in my price range. One major thing I noticed form the on line manual is that most of the buttons on the 2103 can be learned from your original remote and the 2104 you only have 4 keys that can be learned. I also noticed that the newer RS remotes have the Apex DVD codes.

You can learn to almost every button using both remotes. These remotes only have one Apex DVD code, and it's the one for the old AD600A player, but it might also work with the AD500W. Most of the other newer Apex models use a different code that's not in these remotes.

If you ever decide to get involved with JP1, the 15-2104 has a connector, the 15-2103 doesn't.
