Has anyone tried this one out? Is it EXACTLY the same as the 616? Does it use the same charger? Can you use the datalink while it's in the charger? Does Proton have it available as well?

rmh3,

Yes it is the same thing as the Crisp Solutions 616 remote control besides it comes in only a black color, it now also comes with the pc cable. So now you don't have to purchase the UD-616 docking station to get the cable and you can save a few bucks. The dock station does come with rechargable batterys but you can purchase them cheaper than buying the whole dock station.

I belive if you do have the docking station, you can also use the datalink (pc cable) at the same time.

Please note, this model will be replacing the current Crisp Solutions UCommand 616 remote control. The new model which has been shipping for some time is known as these two models: Crisp 626 / SRC-2010.

Hope some of this information helped you.

Eric

rmh3: I got this remote (2010)for Christmas from my wife. I really like it. It has so many options available to you. The screens whereas not fully customizable (could be in the future), are very easy to read and understand. Has enough memory for all my devices (6), and could handle alot more. The only thing or things that I don't really care for are that it has an annoying beep everytime you press a button. This can be disabled in the menu. Another thing is the backlight. Everytime you hit a button the backlight comes on accompanied by a buzzing sound. Not a major problem but an annoying one none the less. This too can be disabled. I did program a couple of macros to it (very easy, point and click) so that my wife could even understand it. Overall I like the 2010. I just cant wait until they really utilize the PC hookup function. Hope this helps.

Got my SRC-2010 today, looks great! I must say that I'm extremely satified with the customer service I got from Eric at AVSmarts! I emailed a few questions, all of which were answered within minutes, then placed the order late Wednesday. Moments later, I had an email with the order summary and tracking number. Two days later, it's here! I'll follow-up with notes on configuration issues. Hopefully, I'll be able to configure my entire my entire HT area, including the PCS X-10 dimmers, gas logs that have an IR remote, and the blinds!
