I have an RCU 800, I cannot get the urc to work with my Sony TV. It works well with my reciever. I have brand new batteries and I tried all the codes that are on the website. One thing that I noticed is that the instructions on the website talk about a code search button, but my remote does not have one. I hold the TV button down and insert the 3 digit codes, and I still can't get it to work. I just got my remote, do you think it is defective or am I doing something wrong? Please help!!!!

Sony only has 1 or 2 codes for TVs, I'm positive that remote has appropriate codes for you, they're almost the first codes put into a remote. I've used the same code in the same remote for 4 very different Sony TVs.
The Code Search button is on the RCA 810 remote. The 800 is a lesser remote and isn't the same. Maybe you are looking at the wrong manual? You probably need slightly different codes, maybe they are 4 digit for that remote or something.
Otherwise I suppose it could be defective. A memory glitch with the Sony codes or something.
