I can't find an inexpensive URC that works well with all my components.
Toshiba 57" 16:9 Onkyo Dolby Digital Receiver Toshiba DVD Dish Network (Echostar) JVC Hi-Fi VCR
I've tried the following with poor results;
Philips REM400 RCA RCU800MSL
I'm looking to stay under $50. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you have the original remotes, go for a learning remote such as the Sony RM-VL700 or VL900. Most other "good" remotes will require a bit over $50.

The new Radio Shack 15-2104 comes with the most up to date UEIC setup code library, so that's you're best bet for a remote with pre-programmed codes, it costs $40.

Well I bought, tried and returned a Radio Shack 15-2103 today. Nothing out there will work with my POS Dish Network Echostar sat receiver. I am using a 1forall cinema7 now. Everything works great, but no dish. AAARRRGGHHHH!!!!

Why not learn the necessary functions from your old remote?

If you have the Dishplayer (7000 series) you should have used the SAT/1005 code which was in the 15-2103, but not the URC-7800. The older Echostars use the SAT/0775 code which is in both the 15-2103 and the URC-7800. However, if you have the rf-only version (model 4700, I believe), you will need to convert it to accept IR signals first, then it will use the SAT/0775 code. Details: [Link: carltonbale.com]Rob.

I really appreciate all the feedback. I have a 4700 model Echostar SAT receiver. I had a Panasonic 51" HDTV (total junk IMHO) that had a "universal" remote that I was able to control the Echostar with. I returned that TV and now have a Toshiba 57" 16:9 HDTV (totally awesome TV). I have been trying to get a universal remote to control all my stuff with out spending a lot of $$. So far the Cinema7 (model 7200) has been the best at accomplishing this. I called Dish Network and their Tech Support suggested the OneForAll product line. The mod that Robman mentions is not required on the 4700, both IR and UHF are enabled by default. Thanks for the tip BTW. The Dish Network code of '0775' appears to be the most common, but it doesn't work. I've tried....0775, 0159, 0269, 0280. I'm going !@#$ing nuts at this point. Any help that you guys/gals can provide is greatly appreciated.

SAT/0775 is the right code. If it doesn't work for your dish, I suspect that you have inadvertantly changed the unit code on your unit. I don't own one of these so I can't tell you how to change the unit code, but I think that there are four possible unit codes and the SAT/0775 code will only work when the unit is programmed to respond to the general "unit 0" code.
Also, silly question, but did you check that you have the RF/IR switch (if there is one) set to IR?
If all else fails, do what Daniel suggested and get the Sony VL700 (or VL900), both are under $50 and both are learning remotes that have enough memory to learn whatever you throw at them (as long as it's IR and not RF of course).

Bingo! I set the UHF remote address to the default value of '1'. All is working perfectly. Thanks to all for your time and input. Special thanks to The Robman.
Happy Holidays!
