I had NO IDEA buying a universal remote would be so HARD. I have purchase at least 4 UR's only to box them back up and return them.

I have two problem compontents. My Denon AVR-682 (same as AVR-1602) receiver is not in any "code" that I have tried. On top of that, I have a ReplayTV, for which is near impossible to find a UR that has enought buttons.
My TV, DVD, and VCR are simple, so just about anything works with them.

I want to stay under $100.

Any suggestions? I would even be willing to use one that I already bought, if I could get it to work.

I have tried an failed with:
Sima SUR-20
RCA 810b (Closest, but ran out of Memory)
OFA ??? (controled 8 I think)

The 15-2104 will also run out of memory. If you want to use that remote, you'll need to go to Rob's website and learn to play with it.

Other options for better learning (without PC interface) include the HTM SL-9000, Sony VL-900, or even the HTM MX-500. The first 2 can be found for well under $100, the MX-500 for $110-120.

Not really, there are codes in the 15-2104 for all of the devices he listed, so he'll only need learning / advanced codes for those buttons that are not pre-programmed, so it should be OK.

Of course, it would be nice to hear back from the original poster, seeing that we went to the trouble to answer his questions.
