I need a remote for my Toshiba vcr, but instead of spending $80 for a remote that just controls a 2nd vcr, I figured I should get a real universal one and put away a few of the ones I have. I can operate the basic stuff (power, chan up & down, etc) with the remote that came with the digital cable box, but I need SP/SLP, Prog, Input buttons. I have a digital cable box, 2 vcrs, dvd, tv, and an analog cable box. That's 6 components, but I'd be willing to hold onto the cable remote since I use it most and it works well, and the dvd because I don't use it much. So I guess the new remote would just control the other 4. I also might get a receiver sometime. I'd like to spend under$100, but I'll spend more it's worth it. Any recommendations?

Pretty much any Radio Shack or One For All remote should serve your purpose. If there are any buttons missing, such as SP/LP, etc, you can program them using advanced codes.

The 5 device 15-2103 is on sale for $20 at radio Shack.

I too only have six devices, but I chose the uCommand 525 from Crisp Solutions because with support for eight devices it gives me room to grow. I also like the touch screen concept and the blue back light has "ooh-ahh" appeal! Although it costs a bit over $100.00 I found it easy to justify the cost.

Check out the review on this site, it seems pretty positive.

I only just ordered it, so I will post a personal review in a couple weeks.

Disclaimer :) This will be my first universal remote control so take my opinion with a pinch of salt!
