My three year old has decided the location of our vcr should now be a secret! I picked up a standard universal remote, which does indeed turn my vcr on and off and does the play, pause, ff, etc. BUT the remote I had had buttons for menu and two you had to press together to set it for programed recordings (like my soaps!!!). IS there any universal remote out that that can help me or I'm I going to have to order a remote from a parts dealer? Thanks.

Wow, I've heard of 3 year olds hiding remotes, but this is the first VCR I've ever heard of them hiding, scary! :)

But seriously, what you need is a universal made by One For All or Radio Shack. Both will almost certainly contain the VCR/0045 code which is probably the code you need for your VCR. Both will have most of the regular buttons, including MENU and PROGRAM pre-programmed, but if there are other buttons that you also need (vcr tracking, etc) you can program them using advanced codes.

If your next quesition is "what are advanced codes?" visit my web site.
