I need recommendations for a universal remote contol which can operate a Sony home theater receiver(Model #475), a Toshiba TV and a Samsung VCR. Normally when I watch TV I jump back and forth between two channels which usually have different sound levels. As such I want a remote where I can have a macro(?) which can do the following: when set to operate the receiver (where I can contol the volume) hit the macro button which will switch it to the TV > last channel/ch return > switch back to the receiver. I am looking for a model that costs less than $50. Learning modes for certain of my receiver functions would be a plus but not required. Thanks.

Look into the Radioshak 15-1995 with the jp1 interface. From what I've read it's the best thing less than $100 for programmable remotes.

Checked Radio Shack's web page. Model 15-1995 wasn't listed. Has it been superceded by another model (15-2105)? Would the Cinema 5 do what I want? If so, is there another brand that is comparable to it as I do not like One For All's keypad style & layout.

The new Radio Shack remote is the 15-2104. The All In One Cinema 7 (not the 5 model) also has the JP1 interface. Check out [Link: hifi-remote.com] for "the definitive Web site" on these two remotes and what they're capable of!
