I got my hands on the new CHAD URC that ships with the high-end Integra receiver, and is available separately ($1000 Cdn. with charging base). It is based on the Pronto line. First reactions? I like it better. The display is very clear and high-res; the icon styles are a nice change from the ordinary, and screen-changing is very fast. The unit itself is a little thicker than the Pronto, but has a very nice feel to it. Unfortunately for button-people, it carries only the mandatory five hard buttons, with no thumbpad or other directional device.

The O/S is blatant Pronto. The touchscreen is very responsive; the merest touch causes instant action. Try as I might, though, I could not activate a "Settings" button; perhaps a software update is required, although that would seem a trifle odd as a requirement for a new piece of hardware like this one.

At this price point, though, I don't care how cool the remote is... ... Mike
