There is the Sony-VL900 [Link: remotecentral.com]and I think there are some Radio Shack and One for all remotes that have macros and learning. But it also depends on how many macros you want and how long the macros should be.

I have the One For All Cinema 7+ (IQ) learning remote. It has four keys identified as "learning" keys but virtually any key can be used for learning. Keys can also be "moved." It has two "macro" keys but again virtually any key can be used as a macro. In fact, most keys can be used to learn two functions using the "shift" (i.e., setup key before learning the function). This remote controls up to 7 devices including DVDs and DTV/DBS receivers. All this for the cost of $25 at Sears.

Caution that the Cinema 7+ can only learn about 28 functions before it fills the memory.

As far as I can tell the cinema 7+ + the jp1 cable = almost infinate macros and kearning capability.
