The magnvox remote we bought somehow deleted channels on our wards tv. We have cable hooked up to it. We had all the channels (over 70) and we tried to program the remote. We got the remote to work but now only have channels 3,4,5, and 33. We cant get any other channels even at the tv.

My Magnavox is a '91, model RX1935 WA24...The remote quit..batteries don't help...I had an RCA universal remote working for a while...but that one quit too... I've tried several other universal units..but get no results...Magnavox (Phillips) will sell me one for $52.14...but that's too pricey. Anyone got any ideas?

J, You probably caused your TV to go through an autoprogram sequence from its over-the-air input, and those three channels were the only ones broadcast in your area. I suggest you use the original remote to go the the TV's menu system. Find the autoprogram command, and ensure that Cable input is selected.
Hz, I suggest you try a UEIC-type remote such as the OneForAll Cinema 7, or the Philips/Magnavox REM400. These remotes have a large code library. Check the return policy at the store and ensure you can return it if it doesn't work for you. Then, make sure you try all the codes listed for your device. The REM400 may have an even better chance of supporting your TV, being branded with the same name. These two remotes sell in the $25 range.

Have a Philips Magnavox REM400 remote for which I've misplaced the instruction manual. Would you know where I can pick up instructions for programming the remote.
