I have an impossible configuration on my remote which isn't playing my VCR and DVD anymore. I want to clear everything including the button settings and start from scratch. I tried taking the batteries out but the memory keeps all old settings indefinitely. How do I do this? The 1-800 number is always busy. Grrrrr.

Thank you in advance!

Print the 15-1995 manual from my site, the answer is in there. You need to activate the Service Menu, then you can select the "MFG RESET".

HA! If only that were the only thing missing! Have you compared the RS manual to mine recently? The only reason you even want to keep the original manual around is for the device code list, other than that you could put it in the trash. The 15-1994 manual is even worse!

If you want to reset the remote, AND NOT THE TV, use this sequence.

1. Press and hold in the P key until the RED light blinks twice and then release the P key.
2. Enter in 9-8-1.

The remote will now be reset to the manufacturers setting's. (e.g. Everything that you programmed will now be erased).

Hey Jason,
The 981 command is for remotes like the 15-1994, not the 15-1995, which works the same way as the Producer 8 remotes. The procedure to do a reset is a bit more complicated in these remotes.
