Does anyone know of any retailers (Best Buy, Circuit city, local Hi-fi shops etc.) that carry learning remotes such as the rotel, marantz, sony??? I'd like to get an up close look and feel for one before i buy.

Wal-Mart has the Cinema 6 learning remote for $19.99

Some of the on line retailers that sell remotes also have stores, but you'll have to be in or near that particular city to take advantage. I bought a Philip's Pronto with no hands on experience before buying, and have not been disappointed. It's the only universal remote I've ever had that didn't take me 10 minutes of explaining to my wife EACH TIME she wanted to watch TV: "Honey, to turn the TVon, you have to hit the MODE key 3 times, unless you were just watching a tape, in which case hit it twice, then hold down the function key and at the same time hit "POWER."

With my Pronto, I had to tell her ONCE where the backlight button was, and she figured out the rest herself. She was a little miffed when learning it cost $300, but now thinks it's the most practical $300 I ever spent.
