Need some help with making and editing PNG files .

When I try to make or edit a png image in paint to use as a button , I want a transparent icon look but it puts it on a black background , and if I take a transparent button downloaded from this site and I go to edit it and save it puts a black background behind the image and makes it look like crap.

So I was wondering what people use to make and edit PNG files so that they are transparent icon when used as a button .

You can't use paint to edit PNG files, it doesn't work properly, I personally use photoshop, however you can use a program called paint, a free download to edit png files correctly from here.

[Link: getpaint.net]

works very well.

Cheers, Adam.

@Adam: This program is actually called Paint.net and not paint ;)

I personally use Corel PhotoPaint. But there are tons of free graphics editing software out there!
