Hi

For a while now, my docking station has been playing up and I've had to pull the power cable under it and sit it on it to make the blue lights stay on.

Yesterday that stopped working. I've bought a new power supply (12V 800mA rated) in case I'd damaged the plug with all the manhandling but that hasn't helped.

I've opened it up and can't see anything wrong. Most obvious thing would be the connector not being soldered to the board properly. I'll try re-soldering it later but it looked solid to me.

AVCS is selling new docks on ebay for a scandalous $239. Do Philips (in the UK or Europe) sell them for a normal price?

Look at the fuse at the output of the connector.
It looks like an axial resistor with printed 3/4 A MS 125V (or something similar).

I had the same problem with my TSU3000 (same docking electronics as TSU7000).

Bye

Thanks, I did see that & wondered if it was a fuse. It looks like this...

I think it's normal as after some re-soldering of the DC connector, I managed to get it to the point where putting some weight on the plug made it charge. Blue lights on.

And then I also noticed after a while the Pronto settings screen would show it was charging even though the blue lights had gone out. That is probably just normal.

So I assume the fuse is ok but still not quite sure what's causing the problem.

Sounds like you need to resolder the jack inside the docking station and while you are in there, I'd replace the fuse link. Are you using the Philips Power Supply or is this some other one you picked up?

FYI, battery icon cycles whenever docked irrespective of whether the unit is charging or not.
