Hey everyone,

hopefully someone has an answer for my problem

Just been learning codes in from the above Austar pay tv box(Australian) into a pronto.

Direction left, up and down learn in and work perfectly. However Left and the select button learn in but dont work at all. The codes for left and select are actually two sets of 4 numbers shorter than the other codes mentioned.

Below are the codes for all of the above mentioed functions. If any australian installers have figured out a fix to this problem id love to get your answers.

Left

0000 0073 0000 0012 000F 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 001C 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0016 0006 0CAC

Up

The codes below DONT work

I had a look over the codes i had for the austar box and i noticed my '7' button is short two batches of 4 numbers too, however im certain i tested it and it worked. Ill add it below so you can see if its any different to yours

7

0000 0073 0000 0011 000F 000A 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 001C 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0010 0006 001C 0006 0CAC

Also on a side not if tried running the codes through IR Tool and the Up, Down, Left codes all come up with the same 3 nokia 'blocks' making up the entire code. However the Right button only brings up 2 nokia 'blocks' in IR Tool.

Ive tried to learn what i can to completely understand the valuable tools everyone puts up on this site. However this one has completely stumped me

Good observation, and that is the reason they don't work.

I think this problem is caused by the connection between the Pronto and the PC during learning. If you learn on the Pronto without the PC connected, that problem shouldn't happen.

But usually you can just edit the bad learn: Change the 0011 to 0012 in the header, then compare a good learn to the bad one to find where the missing pair goes and insert it.

Right:
0000 0073 0000 0012 000F 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 001D 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 001D 0006 0CAC

Select:

0000 0073 0000 0012 000F 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 001C 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0010 0006 001C 0006 000A 0006 0CAC

Test again. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work.

It should be:
0000 0073 0000 0012 000F 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 001C 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0010 0006 001C 0006 0CAC

Also on a side not if tried running the codes through
IR Tool and the Up, Down, Left codes all come up with
the same 3 nokia 'blocks' making up the entire code. However
the Right button only brings up 2 nokia 'blocks' in IR
Tool.

That result is from an obsolete version of DecodeIr.dll. You'll get much better results from a newer version:

Ive tried to learn what i can to completely understand
the valuable tools everyone puts up on this site. However
this one has completely stumped me

If you still have questions about that after trying with the newer DecodeIr.dll, ask.
