I just got the new Toshiba HD-A30 HD DVD player. Unfortunately, its remote does not have discrete power on and power off buttons. Does anyone know if discrete power on and off buttons are available for this player?
I can simulate power on via the "Play" button. However, simulating power on by pressing "Play" followed by "Power" does not work very well, since it takes a LONG time (maybe 20 seconds or more) for the player to power on and boot up before it can accept the "Power" command.
Does anyone knows if this player has discrete power on and off commands or if there is a workaround?
Thanks.

Discrete power on does not work on this model (Play works fine as a power on).
Discrete power off works fine. The code is:
POWER OFF 900A 006D 0000 0001 45B5 936C
Or
0000 006d 0022 0002 0157 00ac 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0689 0157 0056 0015 0e94

Thanks, edlee. I had heard the same thing from an A30 thread in avsforum, and had downloaded the codes for the A1. It's Power Off that's important. I can always use the Play button to simulate Power On.
Thanks!
