I have a dead RU950 which failed after a firmware change. I also have a functioning TSU3000. I am wondering if it is feasable to remove the RF unit from the RU950 and replace the TSU3000 unit with it. IF it is possible how easy? Has anyone done it?

I know on the RC9200, the RF module was a snap-on board that could be swapped out. Been a while since I looked at a TSU7000 but you might want to open up the RU950 and if there's a snap-on module, you should be able to exchange the 2. Keep in mind that your will not have the UK IR database on the TSU3000 though.

Thanks

I will open it up and have a look. Not sure what I would be looking for though!

Hi All

Looked inside & couldn't see any obvious snap on modules. Does anyone know if it is a particular component that I could try and de-solder??? It may be a stupid question, if so sorry!

Also can't seem to easily get the screen of the board. I have removed ribbon cables but something is holding it in place. Any clues?

Thanks

Matt

Check this thread that was posted this week. It is for a 7000 but it might help.

Just wondering if you know whats wrong with the RU950?

If for example its the screen you might actually find it easier to get the 950 working with the screen from the 3000. That might be easier than swapping the RF

Just a suggestion
TSU9400
