I have a TSU 3500 that I programmed via ProntoEdit NG a while back. I have saved several copies of the file to be safe.
Now when I try to access my .pcf config file, it says "File type can not be read by this editor". In fact, it cant seem to open any version of my saved .pcf file. It will open a template that comes with the software.
I have tried loading on another computer and have the same results.
I tried reinstalling ProntoEdit, have the same results.
So I thought...maybe I could upload what I have in the remote, edit that and resave. when I try to upload I get "the remote is not connected to your computer". I tried the whole thing on another computer, and have the same results.
Any help would be appreciated. I am worried I will loose weeks of work if this thing dies and I have some changes I wouldlike to make.
Thanks.
Craig

How did you set up the other computer you tried this on? Did you download a fresh ProntoEdit install file to that computer or did you move the install files from your other computer to the next computer? Are you having any other problems with your computer? Do you have a third computer to try this on? If you do try installing ProntoEdit from a fresh download then upload from the Pronto to the computer and see what you get. Try a new cable if your Pronto is not recognized.

I did an install from the ProntoEdit CD for each computer. I am not having troubles with either computer. I use the same cable everyday to charge my blackberry and it works fine. Each computer has its own cable. In fact, when I plug the remote in, I hear the sound the computer makes when it recognizes a USB device. I do have a third computer and will give it a try.

You say you used the install CD. Maybe you actually used a later version of the editer and also updated the firmware in your remote. You could check the firmware version in the menus. and maybe try the latest version of PPENG.
I know on my 3000 (uk ru950) the firmware and editer version ha ve to be updated together.
Try the file area for all versions
