So it seems I came home Wednesday and DirecTV updated the firmware on my H20 changing my settings, some functionality and it appears changing the way the IR is processed. Previously to get the remote to work I had changed the duration of the codes to .5s thanks to a tip I got here. That in addition to electrical tape with a pinhole over the eye on the receiver since I am using a repeater system. Now the .5s duration is too long and causes the receiver to double commands.

So a little experimentation and now it seems the codes work at their default duration. I also had to bump up the pause between certain commands such as guide, pause, guide to bring the guide up.
