hi guys

Recently I've noticed that my RU990 resets itself occasionally when picked up, I've tried but can't seem to find any pattern to it.

I've tried what Philips support recommended, updating the firmware, resetting the unit and redownloading the PCF but it's still happening. I even tried creating a very simple PCF from scratch to rule out the possibility that imported 'rubbish' was causing a problem.

Is this a known problem? Or is my unit likely to be faulty?

Have you tried disabling the pickup sensor?

Perhaps a failing battery or loose connection?

Hi Daniel,

I don't want to disable the pickup sensor because I like having the backlight come on when people use the remote.

I don't think it's a loose connection from the battery pack into the pronto but it could be problem within the battery pack or perhaps the pack is just getting tired, I'll replacing it and see what happens.

If you don't like any of the above answers, then reflash the firware and see if the problem still occurs....
